The young man who was riding with Colten Treu when he ran down the Lake Hallie Girl Scouts back in 2018 is going to prison.
A judge in Chippewa Falls yesterday sentenced 24-year-old John Stender Jr. to three years in prison. He pleaded no contest to charges of harboring or aiding a felon back in April. Police say he helped Treu cover-up the wreck that killed three girls and one of their mothers. Stender said they were both high at the time. Treu is currently serving a 54-year sentence for killing the girls.
