The Monona Fire Department is getting some much-needed funding to buy self-contained breathing equipment for every firefighter.
The department today says it is receiving 200-thousand-dollars from FEMA as well as ten-thousand-dollars from the city to purchase 30 new breathing devices. The department has applied for these grants for several years but has been rejected until receiving this grant this week.
