One of the most recognizable faces of Wisconsin’s fight against the coronavirus is stepping down.
DHS Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk on Friday announced her retirement. Willems Van Dijk has led Wisconsin’s vaccination effort since former DHS Secretary Andrea Palm left to be a part of the Biden Administration. Governor Evers’ office says the woman who ran the state’s overflow facility at the State Fairgrounds last year, Deb Standridge, will take over at DHS.
