Three of the people who were supposed to be minding inmates at Milwaukee’s House of Corrections are now accused of breaking the rules themselves.
Prosecutors yesterday announced charges against two of three HOC guards. The alleged ringleader has yet to be charged. Investigators say the three smuggled cell phones and drugs into the House of Corrections staring back in December of 2020. One of the inmates in on the scheme says a female guard started the process as a way to communicate with her boyfriend, who was locked-up at the time. But the inmate says the scheme grew into a drug dealing operation that netted the guards money.
House of Corrections managers say they are aware of the case, and they have ‘doubled-down’ on security ever since.
