Governor Tony Evers is observing Overdose Awareness Day in Wisconsin.
The day commemorates those who struggle and who have died from drug addiction especially opioids which account for most overdose deaths. The Department of Health Services says over 68-hundred Wisconsinites died from drug overdoses between 2014 and 2020. The CDC says 15-hundred-and-30 residents lost their lives to overdoses last year which was up over 300 from 2019.
