UW System President Tommy Thompson says the universities will move forward with their own COVID-19 restrictions and protocols.
Thompson today said he doesn’t think the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules has the legal authority to dictate how the university addresses health and safety on campus. Thompson says if the Joint Committee decides to sue, the UW System will fight it. Thompson has directed the chancellor’s on the 13 campuses to work with health officials locally on whether or not to implement mask orders.
