A new fiber optic network will bring fast internet to Eau Claire.
The Eau Claire City Council voted to install fiber cables that will reach about 33-thousand residents and businesses. Taxpayer money will not be used to build the new network. The installation of the fibers will begin next year and could take up to three years to complete.
