Chippewa to Offer Booster Shots

On Monday, August 16, 2021, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a statement regarding the need for an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna) for certain populations.

At this time, an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for individuals 12 and older with certain medical conditions or for those who are receiving certain medical treatments that compromise their immune system’s ability to function. The decision from the CDC’s expert advisory committee came shortly after the Food and Drug Administration expanded its emergency use authorization for the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines allowing for an additional dose for certain immunocompromised people at least 28 days after finishing the first two-dose series.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO.
