Wisconsin’s governor wants the state to get into the prescription drug business.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday proposed a ‘Less for Rx’ prescription drug plan. The idea is to have the state create a drug affordability review board and a drug importation program that the governor says can lower drug costs. The plan also includes a study to see if it would be cheaper for the state to buy certain drugs. The governor is also proposing a 50-dollar out-of-pocket cap in insulin. The proposal is most likely just an election-year pitch. There’s very little chance Republicans at the Wisconsin Capitol will go along with the governor’s idea.
