There’s a push to offer more protections to sexual assault survivors in Wisconsin.
State Rep. Barb Dittrich yesterday introduced Kayleigh’s Law at the Capitol in Madison. The idea is to allow victims of sexual assault, particularly children, to get lifetime orders of protection. Currently, those orders of protection are capped at four years for adult victims and two years for victims who are children here in the state. Arizona this year became the first state to implement the law, and Dittrich says Wisconsin needs to be the next.
