Wisconsin’s largest business group says the reaction to the coronavirus cost people their jobs in the state.
Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce yesterday released the latest numbers from its Employer Survey. Sixty-four-percent of businesses say the coronavirus lockdowns and restrictions hurt their businesses, and 52-percent of businesses say they had to cut workers’ hours because of the restrictions. WMC’s Kurt Bauer said the virus was bad enough, but the prolonged government restrictions made the situation worse. Bauer says Governor Evers is continuing to make things worse by not ending the enhanced federal unemployment benefits in the state.
