The Asian carp is going away.
The fish that Great Lakes states fear will remain a threat, but the fish’s name is changing. The Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee will pick a new name for the fish next month. Some Asian-American lawmakers say the current name is racist. Asian carp got their name from coming to the United States in the hulls of ships from China. Over the years, they have invaded the Mississippi River and other waterways. T
