A recent study shows reporting water wasters in a community can lead to more conservation.
Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison found over 30 billion gallons of water could be saved for every new complaint of water wasting per one thousand people in a utility district. Those conclusions applied to large states like California, which has over 39 million people. Researchers also note that kind of water savings could potentially supply a city like San Francisco for almost a year and a half.
