A crash involving multiple vehicles remains under investigation.
It was on July 7th, at approximately 05:55 pm, the Buffalo County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a three vehicle crash in the City of Fountain City on State Highway 35 near Eagle St. Information that was provided to the Communications Center was indicated that there was a female party whom was in urgent need of an ambulance.
Shortly after first responders arrived on scene, the female operator became pulseless and was no longer breathing. Life saving measures were administrated, unfortunately however, were unsuccessful. Officers on scene were informed that the female operator was traveling northbound on State Highway 35, when she deviated across the centerline, accelerated and struck two parked vehicles before coming to rest in the southbound lane.
The vehicle in which the female was operating was identified as a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. The deceased party was identified as Jodi King of Cloquet MN. Assisting at the scene was the Fountain City Fire Department, Fountain City First Responders and the Winona Area Ambulance Service. The cause of death remains under investigation.
