Lawmakers at the Wisconsin Capitol now have to wait and see what Governor Evers will do to the state’s new 87-and-a-half-billion-dollar state budget.
The Wisconsin Senate approved the plan last night. The budget spends less and in different places than what the governor wants. Republicans also cut taxes in the new spending plan. Governor Evers can sign the budget as-is, veto it entirely, or go through and trim pieces or change the budget to suit his liking. The governor hasn’t said what he intends to do.
