Wisconsin is not going to stop outside groups from helping to pay for election operations.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday vetoed the so-called ‘Zuckerbucks’ legislation. The plan would have stopped groups like the Mark Zuckerberg-funded Center For Tech and Civic Life from giving money directly to cities or counties for election operations. Reports suggest that the CTCL all but took over Green Bay’s election office for the November election. The governor says he doesn’t want to stop local governments from using ‘supplemental’ funding.
