A new poll says people in Milwaukee want to spend city money on helping people, but they certainly do not want to defund the police.
The poll from Suffolk University and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says 57-percent of people in Milwaukee do not support the idea of defunding the police. But the poll also shows that 55-percent of people support spending city money for more social service programs, particularly to help the homeless. Marquette University polling expert Charles Franklin says that shows the difference between defunding the police and diverting city spending. He says the poll shows that how you ask a question is as important as which question you ask.
