Wisconsin’s largest business group says nearly 90-percent of businesses in the state can’t find workers.
Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce yesterday said their latest Wisconsin Employer Survey shows that 86-percent of business owners say they struggled to hire people this year. WMC’s Kurt Bauer says Governor Evers has taken a worker shortage in Wisconsin and turned it into a workforce emergency. Bauer wants the governor to immediately end the enhanced federal unemployment benefits that WMC says are keeping people from returning to work. He also wants lawmakers to look at worker training and retention programs for the future.
