Wisconsin lawmakers are going to borrow to expand broadband internet in the state.
The legislature’s budget-writing panel yesterday agreed to borrow 125-million-dollars for grants that would bring faster internet to rural parts of the state. Governor Evers wants to spend 200-million on the same projects. Lawmakers say the governor has billions of dollars in federal stimulus money that he can spend in any way that he sees fit.
