Wisconsin is going to continue being able to buy land to make sure it never gets developed, but there are some limits.
The state’s budget writing panel, the Joint Finance Committee, yesterday voted to fund the stewardship program for four more years. Governor Evers wanted another 10 years. There are some Republicans who question just how much land the state needs to own, particularly when the state is borrowing money to buy some of the land.
