The Republicans who are writing the state’s next budget say schools across Wisconsin will see more money than ever this year.
State Rep. Mark Born and state Senator Howard Marklein yesterday said the state is going to kick-in 500-million-dollars more for public schools in the next state budget. But, they said the real boost comes from the two-and-a-half-billion-dollars that the federal government has sent to Wisconsin just for schools. Republican lawmakers say that’s more money than schools in the state have ever seen at one time.
