Wood County has the worst sex crime rate per capita in the state.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice released data today on sex offenses and crimes last year. Wood County was second in the state for sex crimes in 2019 with Eau Claire holding the undesirable top spot. The DOJ says there were 121 sex crimes in Wood County in 2020, ten more than in 2019.
