McDonell Lands Softball Coach

McDonell Central Catholic High School and Athletic Director Emily Mallek welcomes Rick Baier to the softball program for the 2021 season. Ms. Mallek said, “I am pleased to welcome Rick to our coaching staff. He has been a part of the MACS community for a long time and truly encompases our mission. I am excited to see where he takes our softball program as head coach.”

Rick Baier is a native of Chippewa Falls, WI and a third-generation graduate of McDonell Central Catholic High
School. He attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire for Business and has been employed at Leinenkugel’s Brewery for over 25 years. Rick has been involved with the baseball program at McDonell High School as Assistant Varsity and JV Baseball coach for the past twelve years. His son, Ryan Baier, took over the role of head baseball coach in 2019. Rick brings a vast amount of experience with coaching, managing, and umpiring. He has played and coached at various levels as well as umpiring baseball and softball games at youth, high school, and adult levels. Rick is committed to the continued development of the McDonell Softball program.


Rick Baier commented, “I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to lead the McDonell Softball
program. This program has been extremely successful under the guidance of Chelsea Sekora and I am looking
forward to continuing along that path.”
