Governor Tony Evers wants the Republican Party to pay up.
Lawyers for the governor and the Wisconsin Elections Commission filed documents in federal court yesterday asking a judge to order state Republican officials and lawyers for former President Trump to pay the legal fees for failed lawsuit challenging the state’s presidential election results. Lawyers for the governor say there was never any evidence of widespread voter fraud and so the GOP should be on the hook for the expense of frivolous lawsuits.
