Scratch one name off the list of potential Republican candidates for governor in Wisconsin.
U.S. Senator Ron Johnson yesterday said if he runs for anything next year, it won’t be governor. Johnson has not yet committed to running for reelection to the U.S. Senate, but did say this week that the recent criticism of his comments about the January 6th riot at the Capitol could push him to run. Johnson is one of several Republicans who had been tossed about as potential opponents against Tony Evers next year.
