Prosecutors in Eau Claire are moving ahead with charges against a caregiver accused of taking advantage of one of his patients.
The D.A. filed charges this week against Daniel King from Elk Mound. King owns Rising Sun and is supposed to be taking care of people with medical or mental health challenges. One of those people told authorities that King never helped with his medication or daily routine, but instead made him work for King’s lawn care service without pay. That claim has King looking at human trafficking charges in addition to abuse charges. King is due back in court at the end of the month.
