Starting today, visitors can enter Yosemite National Park in California without making a reservation.
Park officials made the announcement last week saying they are working to increase accessibility to the park now that the state’s COVID-19 infection rate is trending down. Yosemite started implementing a day-use reservation system last summer as many turned to outdoor recreation and crowded into the park. There is no word yet if park officials will go back to the reservation system again this summer during peak time.
Although reservations are not required, there are still seasonal road closures and certain lodging amenities are closed. Information is available online through the National Park Service website.
