There are some people questioning why Wisconsin’s attorney general has decided to take on student loan forgiveness.
Republican state Rep. Dave Murphy says student debt is not a criminal matter, or a solely Wisconsin matter, so it makes little sense that A-G Josh Kaul would make it an issue. Kaul this week joined 15 other A-Gs in asking Congress to forgive up to 50-thousand-dollars in loans per-person. Brett Healy, with the MacIver Institute, says Kaul is looking to take what should be a personal, financial question and make it into a political issue.
