Raising the minimum wage to 15-dollars an hour would force the elimination of one-point-four-million American jobs.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a report with the findings on a minimum wage hike, something President Biden wants to do in his COVID-19 relief bill. Analysts believe that it would cost the U.S. 54-billion-dollars over a decade if wages are raised.
However, the reports also determined that the number of people living in poverty would be cut by roughly 900-thousand people. Senator Bernie Sanders believes raising the minimum wage should be included a budget reconciliation bill, a move that would forgo GOP approval.
