The Eau Claire County Sheriff is not investigating claims that the city council and county board are violating constitutional rights by proposing a local a mask order.
In a statement, (posted below) Sheriff Ron Cramer says he won’t investigate the claims despite receiving more than 100-emails from community members and a petition signed by more than 950-people. Cramer says the county board and city council convened legally and requested public input before considering mandates. The local orders are not currently active as Governor Tony Evers mask order is still in effect in Wisconsin.
