Governor Tony Evers’ mask mandate is a thing of the past…Or is it?

The Assembly voted today to repeal the governor’s emergency order effective tomorrow. The state Senate voted to overturn the resolution last week. Republicans called it an executive overreach.

The Wisconsin governor is issuing a new statewide mask mandate after legislators repealed his previous order. Republican state lawmakers voted to pass a resolution ending the state’s mask mandate despite pleas from healthcare workers, small business owners and teachers.
Governor Tony Evers almost immediately issued a new mandate. It is unknown whether the state Legislature will repeal the new one. This Emergency Order is set to take effect tomorrow, February 5th.
