On January 26, 2021, the Eau Claire City Council proclaimed Thursday, February 4, 2021 as Transit Equity Day. Transit Equity Day is a national day of action held on Rosa Parks’ Birthday each year to elevate the message that public transit should be safe, sustainable, and equitable for all people and all communities.
The City of Eau Claire’s Transit Division will take part in Transit Equity Day on February 4, 2021. When riders climb aboard an Eau Claire Transit bus on Thursday, they will see that a seat will be marked in Rosa Parks’ honor acknowledging her work and detailing the efforts of Eau Claire Transit and the City of Eau Claire to make public transit accessible and affordable to all.
