President Biden is putting COVID-19 travel restrictions rescinded by former President Trump back in place.
Trump dropped restrictions on travelers from Europe, the United Kingdom and Brazil in the days before he left office, but Biden will reverse that today. He’s also adding South Africa to the travel ban list because of a particularly contagious coronavirus strain. Health officials worry the South African variant could be resistant against the vaccines currently being given.
