Toy Evers is unhappy with the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine program.
He signed onto a letter of objection yesterday along with the governors of neighboring states which was sent to Health and Human Services chief Alex Azar. Earlier this week Azar announced he’ll be leaving the Trump administration January 20th.
The letter from the governors of Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota claims the Trump Administration’s handling of the vaccine rollout has been flawed and misleading. The letter calls for authority for states to directly purchase their own doses.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is teaming with the National Guard and UW System for a COVID-19 vaccination campaign. There will be nine mobile vaccination stations that are to begin to function as of next Tuesday. UW System students who volunteer to help out are eligible to get tuition credit.
