The Wisconsin Supreme Court doesn’t appear to want to draw the state’s next political map. More coverage with Jon DeMaster brings us details from the bench:
The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty yesterday asked the high court to adopt rules that would keep the legal battle over the state’s next legislative map in state courts. A federal court ordered Wisconsin’s last map redrawn. Conservative Chief Justice Paige Rogensack said taking on the responsibility of the map would make the court a proactive player in the process. WILL’s Rick Esenberg expects this year’s map to go to the courts because he doesn’t expect lawmakers and Governor Evers to be able to agree.
