Waukesha’s mayor is walking away from the Republican Party, saying he’s ashamed of what happened at the nation’s Capitol on Wednesday.
Mayor Shawn Reilly said on Facebook on Wednesday that he is ashamed to have ever been a member of the Republican Party, and he doesn’t know how he could ever be a member again. Reilly said the decision may be the end of his political career, but he had to make the decision because he was just so upset.
