President-elect Joe Biden says “our democracy is under an unprecedented assault” as the U.S. Capitol has been breached by protesters.

Speaking in Wilmington, Biden said these scenes of chaos do not reflect a true America, calling protesters to stop now.  He called it “chaos” and “disorder” created by a small number of extremists.

President Trump is calling for peace after protesters who have stormed the U.S. Capitol to go home. 

In a video posted online, Trump said there has to be peace and law and order.  He said he doesn’t want anyone hurt.  He continue to declare that the election was fraudulent and stolen, but added that his supporters can’t play into the hands of opponents.  Protesters breached the U.S. Capitol following a rally by the President at the White House.
