It is the latest sign that authorities are expecting trouble in Kenosha when the decision about charges in the Jacob Blake case comes.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday called-up 500 Wisconsin National Guard troops to head to the city. The governor says the troops will be in Kenosha to work with local law enforcement and protect infrastructure if necessary. No one is saying when a decision in the Blake case will come, but Kenosha is preparing for it right now.
Jacob Blake’s father wants the police officer who shot his son in the back seven times in August to be charged with attempted murder. Speaking today in Kenosha, Jacob Blake Senior claims officer Rusten Sheskey’s life was not in danger.
Blake’s family is in the Wisconsin town peacefully protesting as officials gear up to announce a major decision in his case.
Officials are set to announce soon if officer Sheskey will face charges in the shooting of Blake. Blake’s father also slammed Kentucky officals for firing the officer who was involved with the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor, but not charging him for her death. He called the move senseless.
