Coronavirus Snapshot: WI Steady, NYC Confirms Variant, England Locks Down

The Department of Health Services confirms over 14-hundred positive COVID-19 cases in the state in the last 24 hours. 

The total number of positive cases is just under 488-thousand.  Nine additional deaths were also reported today raising the death toll to nearly four-thousand-900.

Across the nation, The first confirmed case of the more contagious COVID-19 UK strain is being confirmed in New York state.  Lisa G. reports.

And around the globe we see that England will go through another national lockdown, this time to fight the new coronavirus mutation. 

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said leaving home is only acceptable for things like shopping for essential goods.  Online learning for primary and secondary schools begins tomorrow.  The same applies to colleges.  Johnson admitted the move on schools will be hard for many, but he worries about the virus spreading in the classroom.
