Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are clearing the way to a COVID relief package.
An NBC News report says a compromise was reached late last night allowing for the final touches to be put in place on the 900-million-dollar deal. A spokesperson for Senator Mitch McConnell said with the hurdle resolved, “we can begin closing out the rest of the package to deliver much needed relief to families, workers and businesses.”
The deal is said to include a direct payment of 600-dollars to Americans who qualify. Lawmakers are expected to sign off on the agreement sometime today.
