There is a new Christmas Tree at the Wisconsin Capitol.
State Rep. Paul Tittl and state Rep. Shae Sortwell yesterday replaced the tree they originally put in the Capitol Rotunda. Capitol Police removed that tree, saying the lawmakers did not have a permit to display the tree. Tittl and Sortwell say the new tree is their form of peaceful protest. Governor Evers closed the Capitol this year, and ordered that the state’s Capitol tree not be put on display.
