A new audit lays the blame for the months-long delays in getting people in Wisconsin their unemployment checks squarely with the Department of Workforce Development.
The Legislative Audit Bureau yesterday said DWD didn’t follow-up with people about their unemployment claims, or simply didn’t process the information they already had. Those mistakes left thousands of people waiting months to be paid.
