Environmental justice is at the center of Wisconsin’s latest climate change report.
The state’s Climate Change Task Force released its report yesterday. It makes many of the same recommendations that climate change activists have made in the past: a lower carbon footprint and more electric cars. But the report also focuses heavily on the idea of environmental justice. Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, who led the task force, wants to create a new state Office of Environmental Justice and study the racial impact on pollution and climate change.
