The first big winter storm of the season is knocking the power out in New England.
The New York Times says over 200-thousand customers lost electricity Saturday as a powerful winter storm brought high winds and heavy snow into the region. The PowerOutage website says over 196-thousand customers lost power in Maine, and over 46-thousand in New Hampshire. Thousands lost power in Connecticut, where local forecasters are warned of black ice on the roads as temperatures dipped below freezing overnight.
