Green Bay Packers “Golden Boy” Paul Hornung has died at the age of 84.
Hornung was the NFL MVP in 1961 and played on four championship teams. He also helped the Packers win their first ever Super Bowl in 1966 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was eventually inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986. Hornung has been celebrated by Packers coach Vince Lombardi as “the greatest player [he] ever coached.”
He died in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky after battling dementia.
