WEDC Pushes Foxconn to New Contract

Wisconsin’s economic development office says Foxconn needs to agree to a new contract, or else there won’t be any more tax breaks.

WEDC Secretary Missy Hughes yesterday sent a letter to Foxconn explaining that the state will not make-good on the three billion-dollars in tax incentives promised back in 2017 because Foxconn is building a smaller plant in Mount Pleasant. Foxconn last year asked for millions in tax breaks for hiring over 500 full time workers at the plant. Hughes says that is not close enough to what was promised with the larger facility that Foxconn originally planned to build.
