Health officials are labeling the COVID-19 rate as very high in Eau Claire. They also say 33-percent of those who became infected don’t know where they contracted the virus.
There have been more than two-thousand confirmed coronavirus cases in Eau Claire since the beginning of the pandemic. One more coronavirus related death was reported yesterday, bringing the death total to seven.
Thirteen more coronavirus cases are being reported in Chippewa County. That’s according to the latest information from county health officials. This brings the total number of cases to 597 in Chippewa County since the pandemic began.
Barron County is reporting two more coronavirus related deaths.
Health officials say one victim was in their 70’s and the other in their eighties. The death of the victim in their 70’s was caused by a cardiac event, but it’s believed the coronavirus was a contributing factor, according to health officials. This brings the total number of coronavirus related deaths to six in Barron County since the pandemic began.
