The Pepin County Sheriff’s Office has a new tool for finding missing people.
The Sheriff’s Office has partnered with an organization called Project Lifesaver, which offers a device for locating those at risk for wandering off, such as those with Autism and Alzheimer’s. The person at risk wears a transmitter on their wrist or ankle. Law enforcement uses receivers to find the person if they go missing. The receivers can pick up sounds from up to three miles away.
