The eligibility requirements for the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as WHEAP, are being expanded due to the pandemic. Eligibility was based on the previous three months of a household’s income. Now it’s based on a household’s previous month’s income.
The annual assistance program kicks off today for the winter season. WHEAP is administered by the Western Dairyland Economic Opportunity Council in Eau Claire and Trempealeau counties.
