A lawyer for the police officer who shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back, leaving him paralyzed, on August 23rd says that the officer thought Blake was kidnapping a child.
Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey’s lawyer Brendan Matthews tells CNN that once officers arrived on the scene that day, Sheskey heard a woman say, “He’s got my kid.” That’s when Sheskey contends that he saw Jacob Blake turn toward him with a knife. An investigation into officer Sheskey has been launched to determine whether or not charges will be filed.
